Leaders of China and Japan Meet in Beijing2009-04-30 Thu 00:23
Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso started his first official visit to China after being a leader since last year. Premiere Wen Jiabao presented the meeting with Taro yesterday afternoon which held in the Great Hall of People.
Both mentioned their standpoint that two countries need to make close cooperation amid world financial crisis, and make further efforts on mutual strategic relationship. Meanwhile, Premiere Wen stressed the problem of Yasukuni Shrine which Japanese government should think much of. This visiting's atmosphere has been affected by inconsistency in history as Taro Aso paid tribute to Yasukuni Shrine last week. Three parts of agreement has been reached through this conference, the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said, the achievement by this visiting, called "three backbone" by Japan, is both government admits to support the dialogue and cooperation in economic circles and enterprises; strengthen the collaboration in the field of environmental protection, energy saving and climate change; and make further effort to accelerate come-and-go between youth, students, teachers and travelers of two countries. As talking of history problems, it is very sensitive and affects the feelings of the Chinese people all the time, Wen said, China hope Japan can honour its promise and cope with it in the best way which can present the attitude of Japanese officials.
